Hutt River Floodplain Management Plan
Search in document libraryThe Hutt River Floodplain Management Plan is the result of more than 10 years work by the Regional Council, the Upper Hutt and Hutt City Councils, Manawhenua and the people of the Hutt Valley. The Plan is a living document. It is a blueprint for the next 40 years, proposing to spend $78 million on new works. The Regional Council has already committed $20 million to works over the next 10 years and will complete the Plan by 2040. Concurrently we will be working to develop and implement the non-structural measures and to implement the Environmental Strategy. The Plan will be reviewed every 10 years, or after major floods, so it will be refined in response to needs that arise.
