Fairy fun in the forest!
Bring the whānau for an enchanting afternoon in the Gums Loop Meadow at Wainuiomata Regional Park. This special summer event invites tamariki to explore nature, get creative, and learn about the native wildlife that calls this forest home.
Help us build a fairy garden in the forest where North Island brown kiwi live. Kids can paint rocks or create their own fairy doors. There will be facepainting and outdoor games. You're encouraged to bring fairy costumes and picnic lunches to enjoy in the meadow.
Our knowledgeable park ranger will be there (with fairy wings on) to answer questions and share stories about the park’s natural heritage.
Local author and illustrator, Ruth Paul will be there reading her book with the kids and talking about the Capital Kiwi Project.
