Hop on your mountain bike to take in the highlights of the famous Remutaka Cycle Trail and more.
Starting from the Kaitoke side of the trail, you’ll traverse restored railway bridges, zip through historic tunnels, and ride over the exhilarating Siberian Suspension Bridge. Descend the old railway incline to the abandoned Cross Creek settlement on the Wairarapa side and catch a waiting bus that will transport both you and your bike back to the starting point.
The trail encompasses a 10km gentle incline to the summit and includes some gravelly sections. Following the summit, enjoy an 8km downhill cruise to Wairarapa. Due to the nature of the terrain, we advise against this event for children under 14 unless they are confident riders.
The best bit? We'll arrange transportation for you and your bikes back to the starting point. Remember to pack a picnic, snacks, and water.
