This report is the fifth in a series produced by the Resource Investigations
Department of the Wellington Regional Council investigating the
relationship between the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) and hydrological
processes within the Wellington Region.

The aim of this report is to extend the methodologies developed in the
previous reports to seasonal rainfall totals on the Kapiti Coast, and to
investigate the merit of using the SOI to predict rainfall on season ahead.
