Infrastructure costs and urban form - A proof-of-concept model
Search in document libraryThis report provides a preliminary analysis of the comparative costs and revenues to local government associated with different types of urban form in the region. The analysis indicates that density lowers the per-dwelling costs of infrastructure provision. Proximity to the city centre is also found to lower infrastructure costs, particularly of transport. The report covers Wellington City, the Hutt Valley, Porirua, and Kāpiti Coast.
