Community input

Updated 3 December 2018 12:16pm

Knowledge and feedback from the Ruamāhanga community has played a signifcant role in the Ruamāhanga Whaitua Committee's decision-making.

At the start of their work, the Committee met with people from across the Wairarapa valley to discuss how they use, value and care for their water. These discussions were used to develop a set of Ruamāhanga community values that have underpinned the Commitee's direction throughout their four years of work to produce a Whaitua Implementation Programme (WIP).

An overview of community discussions and links to meeting materials are available through the links below.

In addition to these meetings, Committee members have also spent significant time talking with people in their own networks, presenting to groups in the catchment, and updating GWRC and district councils.
