If you weren’t convinced already the park also has:

  • A historical working farm – complete with grazing horses and sheep. You might even see shearing in action
  • Trails suited for hooves, feet, tyres, and on some – baby buggies
  • Spectacular views of the Pauatahanui inlet and the new Transmission Gully motorway
  • Historic graveyard
  • Site of the 1846 battle between British and Ngāti Toa
  • Riding for the Disabled
  • Eel feeding

Allergies and Pollens

Battle Hill Forest Park is prone to high levels of pollen. We recommend visitors who have a pollen allergy to carry appropriate medication.

Park history
