The Millennium Totara Grove is located at Te Marua, about 1km from the park entrance on Twin Lakes Road.

Greater Wellington Regional Council planted this Totara Grove as part of its Arbor Day 2000 celebrations. In June 2000 Greater Wellington planted trees at six different sites in the region for Arbor Day. This Grove was planted by Wellington Regional Councillors - past and present. It marks not only Arbor Day, but also the twentieth anniversary of the Wellington Regional Council and the new Millennium.

The Millennium Totara Grove was developed with help from the NZ Lottery Grants Board.
